The Resident Artist Program is at the heart of what we do at One Hundred Percent MKE.

We offer no-cost residencies and working studio space for under-represented artists in Milwaukee. Each resident receives studio space at 217 N Broadway in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward, along with exhibition opportunities, mentorship, and a collaborative community of fellow artists.

Residencies are typically 6-12 months, giving artists access to free studio space that also acts as a gallery. When our resident artists sell their work, there are no fees or commissions – they keep 100% of their sales. In this way, One Hundred Percent MKE ensures Milwaukee’s cultural future remains bold, diverse, and vibrant.

When joining One Hundred Percent MKE, residents are expected to participate in the life of the gallery. This includes hosting regular open studio hours, contributing to exhibitions, and supporting outreach and marketing efforts. The program is built on mutual commitment—artists grow their own practice while helping sustain a welcoming space for everyone.
