Deja Tay is a fine stained-glass artist, most known for her portrait work. She creates stained-glass that captures the colors, textures, and stories that have yet to be told. Deja uses vintage and hand-rolled glass, layering, copper foil, lead, painting, and other materials to coax depth from transparency. Each piece is designed to change throughout the day, inviting the sun to finish the composition.
When Deja is not in the studio, she spends her time with her daughter, capturing all the magic they can. Deja brings this magic back to the studio where she brings it to life through her work. Deja enjoys getting outside in nature to kayak, hike, rock climb, and of course, go camping! Those fragments of life find their way into new work, becoming the vision that was a thought of the past. No matter the scale, she aims for the same thing: to give a room a heartbeat of color and a moment of quiet, traveling wonder.
